
VYPE interviewed Norman High softball player Jordyn Mars to learn more about who she is.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for the year are to be able to win more games this year compared to last year. My other goal is also commit to a college to play softball before I graduate.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun that I’ve had in the last year had to have been when me and my family went to Universal Studios Resort for vacation with my family.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher has to be my first grade teacher Ms. Ferguson because she had mage me a calendar to count down how many days until my dad gets home from deployment.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory would have to be when I had pitched my first shut out last year.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that had left the biggest impact on me was a senior name Isa Ray. She would give me pointers with pitching, and would help when I needed it.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being in the Norman High team is how much fun we have on the bus rides, as well as how we are always trying to help each other.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could choose where to go for summer vacation I would go to Universal Orlando and I would bring my teammate Ashton, my sister, and my best friend Laurin.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I was given $500 and had to spend it in 24 hours I would get myself things to help me in college and give what’s left to my sister.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I participate in helping with the elementary schools, helping with my community softball fields, by working in the concession stand.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I don’t participate in clubs and the only school thing I participate in is the softball program, this is because I do not have any time for school clubs. I’m on a travel ball team outside of the school.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
I am involved with National Technical Honor Society from when I was taking a physical therapy class at Moore Norman Technology Center.
