Norman High School senior Georgia Caddell approaches her final season with a clear sense of purpose, leadership and appreciation for the journey that shaped her.
A varsity volleyball athlete and returning starting setter, Caddell embraces the responsibility that comes with her role on the court. Rather than focusing solely on individual performance, she measures success by how well she elevates those around her.
“I have confidence in my abilities as our starting setter, but I think the best setter is the one who makes everyone around them better,” Caddell said. “That’s what I strive to do every time I step on the court.”
Caddell credits much of her drive to her mother, who has been a constant source of inspiration. She said her mom’s resilience through life’s challenges and unwavering support have played a significant role in her development both as an athlete and a person.
“My mom inspires me because of all of the hardships she’s had in her life, she has never managed to give up,” Caddell said. “She’s always made sure I’m where I need to be and helped me in my volleyball journey as much as she possibly could.”
Now entering her fourth year with the program, Caddell values the strong bonds formed with her teammates. She said the group’s chemistry is one of its greatest strengths, balancing fun off the court with focus during competition.
“I love that we can be funny and silly together off of the court, but when it’s time to play we take things serious and get the job done,” she said.
Caddell also highlighted teammates who bring energy in different ways, noting Marleigh O’Conner as a vocal leader and one of the most relentless defenders, while Daphne Hill helps keep the team loose.
Off the court, Caddell enjoys spending time with friends, working out and going on walks. In the classroom, she favors physics and credits teacher Mr. Patrick as an influence. Caddell has committed to Southern Nazarene University.
